NIOS concludes training programme for ASHA certification, aims to certify 10 lakh workers in next phase

NIOS concluded a two-day national training programme for the ASHA Certification Programme under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC).

Over 2.27 lakh ASHA workers have been enrolled and more than 1.65 lakh certified so far across 22 states and three Union Territories.

The next phase aims to certify 10 lakh ASHA workers, aligning with the vision of 'From Self-Learning to Self-Reliance' and 'Developed India, Skilled India'.

The programme uses a transparent digital certification platform to strengthen ASHA workers' competence and improve healthcare delivery quality.

NIOS chairman Prof. Akhilesh Mishra said the initiative is a significant step toward making India's primary healthcare services more effective.
