Govt okays chemical parks scheme, expansion of K’taka-Andhra rly line
Union Cabinet approved Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan (BHAVYA Rasayan) scheme with ₹3,030 crore outlay to set up three dedicated chemical parks.
Centre will provide up to ₹1,000 crore per park, subject to a minimum ₹500 crore contribution from the concerned state government.
Scheme will be implemented over five years from FY2026-27 to FY2030-31, with ₹3,000 crore for common infrastructure and ₹30 crore for administrative expenditure.
Cabinet also approved construction of 3rd and 4th rail line on Ballari – Guntakal section at ₹1,264 crore, covering about 46 km in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Rail project aims to enhance connectivity to 99 villages, boost freight traffic by 16.22 MTPA for commodities like iron ore, and improve access to tourist destinations including Ballari Fort and Sri Kumara Swamy Temple.
