DA hike: Will implement 7th pay commission, bridge dearness allowance gap with Centre this fiscal, says West Bengal CM

West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari aims to implement the 7th Pay Commission within the current fiscal year.

The state government plans to gradually bridge the dearness allowance (DA) gap between state and central government employees.

West Bengal revised DA by 20 percentage points to 38% of basic pay in June 2026.

Terms of reference for the 7th Pay Commission have been prepared and will be constituted once finalized.

Adhikari assured that pending arrears for state employees will be cleared in time.
