India's net direct tax collections jump 16.4% to Rs 6.51 lakh crore

India's net direct tax collections rose 16.4% year-on-year to Rs 6.51 lakh crore as of July 13, 2026.

The collections increased from Rs 5.59 lakh crore in the same period last year.

Growth was driven by robust increases in both corporate and non-corporate tax receipts.

Data was released by the Income Tax Department.
