Pune Rain Alert: IMD Forecasts Extremely Heavy Rain In Ghats, Heavy Showers Across District Until August 4

IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall in Pune district's ghat regions, including Tamhini, Lonavala-Khandala, Bhor, and Varandha Ghats, with extremely heavy rain at isolated spots on July 31.

Pune city is expected to receive heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 31, followed by lighter rain through August 4, with a 'Very Likely' probability for all five days.

Strong winds of 50-60 kmph, gusting to 70 kmph, are likely during intense weather spells, posing risks of waterlogging, flash floods, landslides, and road disruptions.

Authorities advise residents and tourists to avoid visiting waterfalls and overflowing streams, and to follow official advisories when traveling through ghat sections.

IMD recommends farmers to harvest mature crops, ensure drainage, and secure livestock and produce to minimize weather-related losses.
