CWG 2026: Sreeshankar bounces back with long jump silver in Glasgow

Murali Sreeshankar won silver in men's long jump at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a best leap of 8.09m.

Jamaica's Tajay Gayle took gold with an 8.15m jump, while Scotland's Stephen Mackenzie took bronze with 8.08m.

Sreeshankar's silver marks a comeback after a left patellar tendon rupture nearly ended his career two years earlier.

Indian compatriot Lokesh Sathyanathan finished fifth with a best of 7.97m.

Sreeshankar was the first Indian to win a long jump medal at the CWG, though he missed becoming the first Indian gold medalist in the event.
