Guard strangled, body dumped in water tank of Juhu residential building

Manojkumar Yadav, 34, a security guard at Abhijit Building on SV Road in Vile Parle (West), was found strangled in a ground-floor water tank of a Juhu residential building on Monday.

Yadav's hands were tied behind his back; preliminary postmortem indicated strangulation before the body was dumped in the tank.

The crime was discovered when his reliever reported for duty and could not find him; residents checked the water tank and found the body.

Police registered a murder case against unidentified persons and formed seven teams to trace the accused; motive remains unclear.

Yadav had been working at the six-storey building for a few months; he was last seen and spoken to by residents on Sunday evening.
