PM Modi announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia from PMNRF for families of those killed in Bhiwandi building collapse and Rs 50,000 for seriously injured.

The collapse occurred in B-Wing of Kohinoor Apartment in Gangaramwadi, Bhandari Compound, Bhiwandi, late Thursday night; death toll rose to nine.

Rescue operations by NDRF, TDRF, Fire Brigade, police, and BNCMC are ongoing.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis ordered an investigation and directed authorities to register an FIR against those responsible.
