Jasprit Bumrah's return confirmed: India pacer clears fitness test before Sri Lanka Test series

Jasprit Bumrah cleared fitness tests at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru after recovering from an impact injury sustained during the ODI series against England.

Bumrah missed the third ODI at Lord's due to the injury, but is now available for India's two-Test series against Sri Lanka starting August 15 in Galle.

The series is part of the 2027-29 World Test Championship cycle, and India need to win at least seven of nine remaining matches to stay in contention for the final.

India currently sit fifth in the WTC standings with a points percentage of 48.15, while Sri Lanka are sixth.

Other injury concerns remain for India: Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy are ruled out, Washington Sundar will miss the first Test, and Akash Deep is rehabilitating.
