India's solar power capacity sees 57-fold jump since 2014: Govt

India's solar power capacity increased 57-fold since 2014, reaching 162.15 GW as of June 2026.

Minister Pralhad Joshi informed Parliament of the growth, making India the world's third-largest in solar capacity.

The expansion was supported by government schemes for solar parks and domestic manufacturing.
