Punjab opens applications for second batch of anti-drug mental health fellowship

Punjab government is accepting applications for the second cohort of the Leadership in Mental Health Programme (LMHP), India's first fellowship against substance abuse.

The second cohort will include 10 fellows and seven Senior Associates, aiming to create a statewide network across all 23 districts.

The programme is part of the Yudh Nashean Virudh campaign led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, integrating mental healthcare with anti-drug efforts.

Fellows receive training in psychosocial interventions, relapse prevention, and community-based rehabilitation, with support from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.

The first cohort of 13 fellows is currently working across Punjab to strengthen mental health services.
