Indian-origin techie leaves Meta to start AI startup

Indian-origin software engineer Prakshal Jain quit his $300,000-a-year job at Meta to launch AI startup Mitosis Labs with Alex Morris.

At Meta, Jain spent 3.5 years, most recently on the Comet Frameworks Team, building XR and web experiences, and contributing to Meta AI applications.

Jain said he quit because he found himself relying on AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude Code instead of conventional apps, leading to the idea that 'The best UX is no UI.'

He built a personal AI agent trained on his entire digital footprint, claiming his iPhone screen time dropped 78% in three weeks.

Mitosis Labs aims to free people from repetitive digital tasks like filing taxes and filling out forms while ensuring AI security and privacy.
