in5points
Indian weightlifter Harjinder Kaur won silver in the women's 69kg category at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a total of 227kg (101kg snatch, 126kg clean and jerk).
Harjinder started weightlifting in 2016 at age 20 after playing kabaddi, and her lifts included competitive personal bests in snatch, clean and jerk, and total.
Canada's Charlotte Simoneau won gold with a Games record 240kg, while Australia's Nya Hayman took bronze with 218kg.
The silver medal gives Harjinder a boost ahead of the Asian Games, as she aims to upgrade from her bronze at the 2022 CWG in the now-defunct 71kg category.
