Award-winning UK crime writer Lynda La Plante faces a potential driving ban over three alleged speeding offences in south-west London.

La Plante's vehicle was detected travelling between 24mph and 27mph in a 20mph zone on the A308 Kingston Hill between November 2025 and April 2026.

She argues that signage on Kingston Hill was "very confusing" and the speed camera was positioned too close to the new 20mph limit.

If found guilty on all counts, Lynda La Plante could accumulate at least 12 penalty points and face a six-month disqualification from driving.
