Carney lauds Hindu community’s contributions to Canada at Dhanteras gala

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney praised Canada's Hindu community for contributions in IT, software development, healthcare, engineering, and public service at the CHCC's Dhanteras gala in Calgary.

The Dhanteras gala was held for the first time in Calgary, Alberta, and Carney commended the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce for supporting businesses and the economy.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith welcomed CHCC members, praising their innovative spirit, while Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre highlighted their business success and cultural dedication.

The CHCC Global Hindu award was given to Pakistani parliamentarian Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, and former MLA Peter Singh received the President's Award.

Former Alberta cabinet minister Leela Aheer received the Inspiring Women of Excellence award, and Dr. Hasmukh Patel received the Lifetime Achievement honour.
