Mumbai: Kurla Court Acquits Doctor In 2020 Chembur Accident Case, Cites Lack Of Evidence And Investigation

Kurla Metropolitan Magistrate's court acquitted Dr Motiram Ramji Khandode in a 2020 Chembur accident case.

The court cited lack of evidence and investigation lapses, including no CCTV footage and missing vehicle inspection report.

Complainant Jayakrishnan Shankar Thamal was the sole eyewitness but failed to explain the collision or provide the Ford EcoSport's registration number.

The investigating officer admitted complainant's vehicle documents and medical records were not filed with the charge sheet.

The court gave the benefit of doubt, ruling prosecution failed to prove rash driving or that injuries were caused by the accused.
