Ludhiana: Garbage cleared on VIP route, but stench lingers in neighbourhoods

Ludhiana's municipal corporation cleared garbage on routes linked to chief minister Bhagwant Mann's visit, including Pratap Chowk and Cheema Chowk, but heaps remain in neighbourhoods.

The sanitation workers' strike ended on August 1, a day before Mann's visit to inaugurate two Schools of Eminence.

Residents in Model Town, Dugri, Gill Road near Arora Palace, and Kochar Market report uncollected garbage causing stench, affecting daily life.

Municipal commissioner Ojasvi Alankar said teams work round the clock with additional machinery and urged residents to contact the monsoon helpline for issues.
