Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway to open new growth corridor

in5points
The 63-km Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, built by NHAI at ₹4,700 crore, will reduce travel time between Lucknow and Kanpur to 35–45 minutes.
The six-lane access-controlled expressway is designed for speeds up to 120 kmph and can be expanded to eight lanes.
It begins at Shaheed Path in Lucknow and ends near Azad Chauraha in Kanpur, with an 18-km elevated stretch and 45-km greenfield alignment through Unnao.
Only four-wheelers and larger vehicles are allowed; two- and three-wheelers are prohibited for high-speed traffic flow.
The expressway is expected to support the proposed State Capital Region (SCR) by spurring investment in logistics, industrial clusters, and residential townships.
