Four killed in landslides as heavy rain triggers floods across Kerala

Four people were killed in landslides in Kerala's Idukki and Kottayam districts on Saturday due to heavy rain.

Sumathi died when debris struck her house in Adoormala, Kudayathoor (Idukki); her husband Ravi and son Ratheesh were rescued and hospitalized.

In Poonjar (Kottayam), Josephine died and his mother Rejina Johny was found dead after being buried under debris in Payyanithottam.

Prabhakaran Nair died in a landslide at Vagamon (Idukki) while staying at a relative's house.

Flooding and landslides disrupted traffic, including blocking roads and causing waterlogging on NH 183 due to the overflowing Chottupara stream.
