Pakistani man to be deported out of US for immigration fraud; used three names to become a citizen in 2009

Pakistani-origin man Murtaza Ali is set to be deported from the US after pleading guilty to immigration fraud using multiple aliases.

Ali used three different identities to obtain immigration benefits, ultimately gaining citizenship under the alias 'Muhammad Iqbal' in 2009.

Fingerprint evidence matched applications under the names 'Mortaza Ali' and 'Muhammad Iqbal', leading to charges of false statements in 2014.

On July 14, 2026, the US filed a denaturalization action against Ali, alleging fraud, false testimony, and concealment of material facts.

The DOJ is pursuing denaturalization of ten criminal aliens, including child abusers and fraudsters, to restore integrity to the naturalization process.
