England end India women's pairs campaign; Sonowal semifinal hopes also dashed

England defeated India's women's pairs team of Pinki Singh and Rupa Rani Tirkey in a tie-break in the final Group B match, eliminating India from the Commonwealth Games lawn bowls semifinals.

Putul Sonowal's semifinal hopes in men's singles ended after a 0.5-1.5 loss to Malta's Shaun James Parnis in Group D.

The women's pairs match went to a tie-break after England won the second set 10-3, following India's 4-3 first-set win.

England's Sian Honnor delivered the winning bowl in the tie-break, brushing past India's shot bowl to rest closer to the jack.

India finished third in Group B women's pairs with three wins from five matches.
