The film's trailer, released a few days ago, received a positive response for Rakul's portrayal of Surpanakha.

In response to a fan's open letter, Rakul said she was drawn to Surpanakha's complexity and that history often remembers her for one moment, but there is more to her story.

Ramayana Part One is set for a global release on November 8, 2026, coinciding with Diwali, with the second part slated for 2027.

The film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.
