Rajinikanth turned down Malaysia audio launch for 'Jailer 2'

Rajinikanth reportedly declined a Malaysia audio launch for 'Jailer 2' to avoid comparisons with Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' event.

The proposal was made by Malaysia distributor Datuk Malik, who organized the 'Jana Nayagan' audio launch.

Rajinikanth reportedly told the production house he did not want to look like he was competing with Vijay.

Neither Rajinikanth nor the makers have officially confirmed the report; the audio launch date and venue are unannounced.

'Jailer 2', directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is scheduled for theatrical release on October 15 and features music by Anirudh Ravichander.
