INS Sudarshini sets sail for Portugal after month-long visit to US

INS Sudarshini, a sail training vessel of the Indian Navy, departed Boston, USA, on July 25 as part of the Lokayan 26 voyage.

The ship participated in SAIL 250 celebrations and International Naval Review 250 across Norfolk, Baltimore, New York, and Boston.

INS Sudarshini now sails for Ponta Delgada, Azores, en route to Portugal.

The voyage Lokayan 26 began from Kochi on January 20, 2026, to promote maritime outreach and showcase India's seafaring traditions.

Commander Ravikanth Nandoori leads the ship, which is a 54-metre three-masted barque with 20 sails and a crew of five officers, 31 sailors, and 30 cadets.
