Ex-politician Ann Widdecombe killed in targeted attack, motive unclear: UK cops

Former MP and reality TV contestant Ann Widdecombe, 78, was killed in a targeted attack at her home in Haytor, southwest England.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and terror crimes and remains in custody under an extended detention warrant under the Terrorism Act.

Widdecombe was attacked on July 15, 2026, failed to appear for a TV interview, and was found dead the next day with serious injuries.
