Ashirwad Scheme: Punjab releases ₹14.12 crore for 2,769 beneficiaries

Punjab government released ₹14.12 crore under the Ashirwad Scheme for 2,769 beneficiaries across 19 districts in financial year 2026-27.

Each eligible girl from economically weaker families receives ₹51,000 for marriage.

Applicants must be permanent Punjab residents from Below Poverty Line families belonging to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, or other Economically Weaker Sections.

Annual family income must not exceed ₹32,790, and benefit is for up to two daughters per family.

Financial assistance is transferred directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer system for transparency.
