Fadnavis meets NCP factions amid reunification talks

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis met leaders from both NCP factions at his official residence 'Varsha', fueling speculation of a possible reunification.

Jayant Patil of the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) met Fadnavis regarding an issue in his Uran-Ishwarpur constituency, but did not meet together with ruling NCP leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare.

The meeting follows buzz over a potential merger after the plane crash of Ajit Pawar, with some NCP (SP) members claiming he initiated talks with Jayant Patil, though NCP leaders later refuted this.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut downplayed the meeting, calling the rumors deliberate and stating that NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule would explain the details.

Congress leader P Chidambaram accused BJP of wooing NCP (SP) and DMK to support a bill expanding Lok Sabha to 850 seats and initiating delimitation, which he claimed would harm states' rights.
