in5points
  1. Maharashtra government made Aadhaar-based verification mandatory for all welfare schemes after using Aadhaar e-KYC to identify ineligible beneficiaries under Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (MMLBY).

  2. People applying for benefits without an Aadhaar number must enrol for one under the new policy.

  3. For beneficiaries aged 18 and above, alternative verification is allowed using Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) plus documents like ration card, caste certificate, passport, or driving licence.

  4. For children below 18 without Aadhaar, an Aadhaar enrolment acknowledgement slip with Enrolment ID (EID) and an age-proof document is required.

  5. Children will not be denied welfare benefits if they lack Aadhaar or authentication fails; they can establish identity through a prescribed process.
