FIR against woman for displaying pro-Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam placards at Bengaluru protest

Police filed an FIR against an unknown woman at Freedom Park in Bengaluru for displaying placards supporting jailed activists Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam.

The placards carried slogans including 'Umar Khalid Zindabad', 'Sharjeel Imam Zindabad', and 'Ukhaad Le BLR Police'.

Other protesters allegedly hid the placards before police could seize them; CCTV footage confirmed the woman deliberately displayed provocative placards.

Legal action is taken under Section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 for disturbing public peace.

The protest was organized by student groups with 1,000-1,500 participants, protesting police action in Delhi and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
