Defence ministry invites firms to design, develop airship-based high-altitude pseudo sats under Rs 15,000cr program

Indian defence ministry invites domestic aerospace firms to design and develop Airship-based High Altitude Pseudo Satellites (AS-HAPS).

The program is valued at over Rs 15,000 crore.

AS-HAPS are designed to operate at high altitudes, providing persistent surveillance and communication capabilities.

The initiative aims to reduce dependence on foreign satellite systems for defense purposes.

Firms have been invited to submit proposals for the design and development phase.
