3 booked for staging theft to ‘bolster claim over police land’ in Ludhiana

Three persons booked for staging theft to legitimize encroachment on police land near Ludhiana Railway Station.

FIR registered on August 1 names Abdul Rashid of Sadiana area in Malerkotla and associates Indu Shekhar alias Kancha and Gulshan alias Gaggu of Tyre Market.

Rashid allegedly staged theft and lodged false complaint to create official records supporting claim over property.

Property is part of old police lines near Ludhiana Railway Station, shifted to Civil Lines after Partition.

Inquiry by ADCP Sameer Verma found property belonged to police, leading to cancellation of earlier FIR against caretaker Saroj Yadav.
