'80-year-old architecture... ineffective in tackling global conflicts': India renews call for UN reforms

India renewed its demand for urgent UN reforms at a ministerial meeting.

Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni said the UN Security Council is ineffective in responding to global conflicts.

India argued that the UN's current '80-year-old architecture' has weakened public confidence in the organization.

The call for reform was made at the Ministerial Roundtable on 'Making Multilateralism Fit for the Future'.

India stated the UN is no longer equipped to deal with present-day challenges.
