Lake revival under Namami Gange: Numaiya Dahi Lake to get STP and eco-tourism facilities

in5points
Numaiya Dahi Lake (Kheduwa Taal) will be restored and beautified under the Namami Gange programme.
A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is planned to treat wastewater flowing into the lake.
The 48-hectare lake has been declared a Wetland Forest under Namami Gange and is a habitat for aquatic life and migratory birds.
Proposed eco-tourism facilities include pathways, benches, shaded shelters, lighting, play areas, picnic spots, and boating.
The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) is preparing proposals to restore the lake as part of wetland conservation in the Ganga basin.
