GMCH-32: MBBS student dies by suicide after sending ‘goodbye’ messages, say cops

A 23-year-old final-year MBBS student died by suicide at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, by jumping from the sixth floor of E-block.

The student sent goodbye messages to friends and wrote a message for his parents before the incident.

Police stated the student appeared stressed about academic difficulties.

The postmortem is scheduled for July 24, as no family member had arrived at the mortuary.

This suicide follows a similar incident in June at the same hospital, where a junior resident was found dead under suspected suicide.
