Six booked for stabbing, running over AAP sarpanch in Hoshiarpur

Six persons were booked for the murder of Aam Aadmi Party sarpanch Satpal in Hoshiarpur's Anandgarh village.

Satpal, 52, was attacked with sharp-edged weapons and run over by the assailants' vehicle when he intervened in a clash.

One assailant was arrested on the spot by villagers; five others are absconding.

Police said Satpal had no personal enmity with the accused; he was trying to protect a man named Rohit.

Family and villagers refused to cremate the body until all accused are arrested.
