4 held after 15-year-old girl found dead at Assam home; family claims rape: Cop

Four people have been detained in connection with the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in Hailakandi district, Assam.

The body was found at her home near National Highway-6 in Aloichora area under Katlichera police station.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP), Hailakandi, Amitab Sinha said a case has been registered and four persons are being questioned.

Police are waiting for the post-mortem report to confirm the sexual assault allegations.

The victim's sister alleged that the attackers used utensils and other objects to mutilate the body after the assault.
