Hisar Court sentences acid attack convict to life imprisonment

Hisar court sentenced Sanjay Kumar to life imprisonment for pouring acid on taxi driver Ashwani Kumar, who died from injuries.

Judge Alka Malik also imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on the convict Sanjay Kumar.

The victim Ashwani Kumar, a resident of New Rishi Nagar, was a taxi driver and a widower with two daughters.

Sanjay Kumar poured acid on Ashwani Kumar's thigh without reason while he was sitting near Aggarwal Bhawan on June 12, 2022.

Ashwani Kumar died during treatment, leading to the addition of murder charges under Section 302 IPC.
