70% of Varanasi under CCTV watch, 5K cops deployed for Sawan rush

Around 5,000 police personnel, 50 deputy superintendents of police, and 5 senior officers will be deployed in Varanasi for the Sawan month.

Nearly 70% of Varanasi will be under CCTV surveillance, intensified through the Trinetra system.

The city is divided into 5 zones and 15 sectors for security management.

Systematic barricading and Lost and Found centres will be set up for pilgrim convenience.

Plainclothes police will be deployed in crowded areas and along temple routes to monitor suspicious activity.
