Pole vaulters Meena, Kumar raise coach’s hopes at CWG

Coach Ghanshyam Yadav hopes Kuldeep Kumar and Dev Meena will achieve a podium finish at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Yadav's long-term goal is to prepare Kumar and Meena for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Both athletes have traded the national record in pole vault, with Meena clearing 5.46m at the Inter-State meet in May 2026.

Kumar comes from a family of pole vaulters in Mauaima, Uttar Pradesh, and trains at Yadav's Bhopal academy.

Yadav focuses on fundamentals like runway speed, planting mechanics, and pole selection in his specialized program.
