Ludhiana: Nine years on, this government school students continue to attend classes in corridor

students of Government Primary School A-1 in Ludhiana have been attending classes in a corridor since 2017, when their original building was declared unsafe.

The school operates from the Government Primary School and Government High School campus on Shahpur Road, where a land dispute has stalled construction of a new building.

Students endure extreme weather in the corridor, and the headteacher says the lack of classrooms has discouraged parent enrolment.

The Shahpur Road campus is also space-constrained, with 170 students in six classrooms and three kindergarten sections sharing one room.

Academic programs like Mission Samrath are held in the corridor, and mid-day meals are served at desks due to lack of space.
