MPSC denies paper leak allegation as Rohit Pawar demands CBI inquiry

Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) denied a paper leak allegation in the Drug Inspector (Group B) recruitment exam, stating no evidence supports the claims.

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar alleged the question paper was sold for ₹12 lakh and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry.

The controversy stemmed from social media claims that a document with most exam questions was circulated on WhatsApp two days before the March 22 exam.

MPSC said the original complainant, Gaurav Patil (also Lokesh Patil), retracted the allegation via email, admitting the circulated PDF was not the actual question paper and the claim was made 'in jest'.

The exam for 154 drug inspector posts was held on March 22; results were declared June 12, interviews completed July 1–22, and a provisional merit list of 488 candidates published July 22.
