Allahabad High Court says husband cannot take advantage of his wrongdoing in maintenance case

Allahabad High Court ruled that a woman induced into marriage by concealment of the husband's existing marriage is entitled to maintenance under Section 125 CrPC.

Justice Garima Prashad held that a husband cannot take advantage of his own wrongdoing to deny maintenance even if the marriage is void.

The court dismissed husband Manoj Kumar alias Bablu's revision challenging the family court's maintenance order.

The wife Monika alias Satyawati's revision for enhancement was partly allowed; Mathura Family Court had awarded ₹6,000 per month, but the High Court noted the husband earns ₹50,000 per month.
