France, Spain wildfires force nearly 260,000 evacuations as blazes rage unchecked

Wildfires in southwestern France and central Spain forced nearly 260,000 evacuations on Saturday.

France accounted for about 197,000 evacuations, mostly around Bordeaux and holiday destinations.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez called it 'probably' France's largest peacetime evacuation.

President Emmanuel Macron pledged to rebuild affected communities after the crisis.
