Delhi Traffic Police asks app-based platforms to regulate services in BNSS-restricted areas

Delhi Traffic Police advised app-based mobility, food delivery, logistics, and e-commerce platforms to regulate operations in areas under Section 163 of the BNSS, 2023.

Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS prohibit assembly of five or more persons, processions, demonstrations, and carrying of firearms, banners, placards, and lathis in public places across New Delhi district.

Supporters of the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar have been using online food delivery platforms to send meals, prompting the advisory.

Platforms may implement temporary geo-fencing or suspend rides and deliveries to and from notified areas where operationally feasible.

The police urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel to restricted areas to ensure safety and support enforcement of prohibitory orders.
