62 govt schools in Gurugram run from unsafe buildings: Report

government schools in Gurugram, Farrukhnagar, Sohna, and Pataudi operate from unsafe buildings, with 34 in Gurugram, 16 in Farrukhnagar, 5 in Sohna, and 7 in Pataudi.

The Haryana education department sent a list of unsafe school buildings to the Public Works Department (PWD) in August 2025, but no action has been taken despite repeated reminders in July.

The worst-affected schools include Government Girls Primary School in Sukhrali, Government Middle School in Samaspur, Government Girls Primary School in Sohna, and Government Senior Secondary School in Daulatabad.

Ashok Prajapati, president of the District Primary Teachers Association, warned that the building conditions pose serious safety risks to students and teachers.
