Netflix sued for $105M over lost film copy

Netflix is being sued for $105 million by Op-Fortitude Ltd. and producer Simon Afram over the alleged loss of an unencrypted copy of the film 'Fortitude', starring Nicolas Cage.

The film, inspired by WWII's Operation Fortitude, cost $45 million to produce and took seven years to create.

The lawsuit claims the loss undermines the film's exclusivity and distribution value, forcing a halt in marketing and sales initiatives.

Netflix denies the allegations, stating the film was delivered without standard security like encryption, and accuses the plaintiffs of attempting to extort money.
