‘Cluster redevelopment will make Navi Mumbai unlivable’: Naik takes a swipe at Shinde

Forest minister Ganesh Naik criticized deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde's cluster redevelopment policy, warning that higher FSI would make Navi Mumbai unliveable.

Naik questioned the 'wise man' behind the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) and opposed the policy in the cabinet.

The urban development department removed the 30-year eligibility for certain CIDCO buildings, enabling the Ghansoli's 17-acre Simplex Colony project.

NMMC notified the Urban Renewal Plan covering nearly 3,500 homes and around 16,000 residents.

Navi Mumbai Shiv Sena chief Kishor Patkar accused Naik of ego and noted Naik had tabled a CRISIL report seeking 4 FSI.
