Barapullah Phase III corridor to open this month

in5points
The 3.5-km Barapullah phase III elevated corridor in Delhi is complete after a decade of delays and is likely to open in August 2026.
The corridor provides a signal-free link between Mayur Vihar Phase-I and AIIMS via Sarai Kale Khan, cutting travel time to 15 minutes.
It will ease congestion at NH-24, the DND Flyway, Ring Road, and the Sarai Kale Khan junction for commuters from east Delhi.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has asked Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to set an inauguration date; PWD minister Parvesh Verma cited sustained monitoring by the BJP government.
The project, approved in 2014, faced land acquisition issues, contractual disputes, and supply disruptions from the West Asia conflict.
