Dutch woman prefers Bengaluru over Mumbai after motherhood

Dutch travel influencer Ivana, living in India for nearly 9 years, said motherhood made Mumbai feel like a nightmare rather than a dream city.

She preferred Bengaluru over Mumbai after becoming a mother, citing Bengaluru as slow, green, and safe.

Moving to Mumbai coincided with pregnancy health issues like placenta bleeding and severe anaemia, and she found the city's heat and hustler mentality overwhelming.

Ivana went from a large, breezy home in Bengaluru to a tiny Mumbai apartment, leading to feelings of suffocation and isolation.

She expressed guilt and shame for not loving the dream city she had long wanted to live in.
