Inspired by Rory, Mannat Brar works on technique, strength after maiden pro triumph

Mannat Brar, a 19-year-old golfer from Chandigarh, won her maiden professional title at the Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour event in Bengaluru after overcoming a seven-shot deficit in the final round.

Brar draws inspiration from Rory McIlroy, particularly his perseverance in chasing a career Grand Slam and his quote about results not mattering if you keep trying.

She finished as the top female competitor in the mixed-field IGPL Invitational Congo and tied 11th at the Indian Open as an amateur in 2024.

Brar credits the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) for providing a platform to play alongside men for equal prize money and learn from players like Udayan Mane.

She is focusing on refining her technique and building physical strength to compete with the world's best.
